Uhaul? Penske? Budget?

Truck Sizes
Uhaul and Budget both have trucks ranging from 10’ to 26’.
Penske stands out in the truck category because they offer a larger range of trucks and even have lots of liftgate options for those really big items you don’t want to, or simply can’t, push up a ramp.
Customer Service
Uhaul is mostly a joke in this category. Mostly but not always! Pretty much anyone can setup a Uhaul rental location. I’m sure you’ve seen those shady looking lots. Those are the ones that tarnish any semblance of customer service for Uhaul.
Budget and Penske both stand out in this category. They don’t let just anyone open a location. They are both run in a very professional manner.
Truck Dependability
Again, Uhaul is mostly a joke in this category. If you are moving more than an hour away, I would strongly suggest Penske. They excel at keeping their trucks in top shape. Penske is the company that lots of major professional moving company lease their trucks thru because the lease includes the amazing maintenance.
Locations
Uhaul is crushing this category. Like I said above, anyone can open one. They have 21,000 locations! Budget has around 2800 and Penske has less than 1000.
Good news is that they all have locations here in Jacksonville.
Pricing
You get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and base your decision on the above and not the price. But I’m sure you still want to know so here it goes. Uhaul is the cheapest. Budget and Penske are pretty much equal.
